The Sunsational Storyteller Series concludes this weekend, August 14, 15 and 16 with Cleveland’s own powerful poet, Mary Weems.  With a variety of times, you won’t miss out on this wonderful event.Mary Weems

  • Friday, August 14 at 5 and 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 16 at 1 and 3:30 p.m.

Not only is Weems known for her poetry, but she is an accomplished playwright, author, motivational speaker, and imagination-intellect theorist. She will take audiences on a journey in the newly installed contemporary galleries of the East Wing, examining art from the 1960s looking forward.

Don’t miss this FREE event and ice cream that follows. You’re going to want a seat for this, especially since the previous Sunsational Storyteller events have sold out! Call 1-888-CMA-0033 for reservations and beat this weekend’s heat!

See you there!

Sorry folks, this week’s sightings did not yield a winner! Eat some carrots, pump up that vitamin A, and keep your eyes peeled!  She’s still out there!

We’ll be offering the gift certificate to Melt to another lucky winner Tuesday.

Meanwhile, did you catch Romie at the zoo?  She was out with her buds this past week  checking out the wildest of wildlife in Cleveland at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.   She had a great time, but missed all of you!  As you can see, she spent her day getting a little prehistoric with the dinosaurs.

She’ll be out on the town again this weekend, too.  If you do see her, please send us a comment or a pic!  We’ll be entering your submissions this weekend into the grand prize drawing when she wraps up her travels in September.  No clues here, just email us at haveyouseenit@clevelandart.org or post your comment to this blog and you’re good to go.  The grand prize will be just as gooey, too!

Have a great weekend, let us know if you see Romie out and about in your neighborhood, and be sure to drop into the blog on Monday for your Tuesday contest clue!

Peace.

The Summer of CMA crew

Congratulations to Tricia Munson! She won a pair of tickets to the Improv for letting us know that Romie spent her morning at Wade Oval.

Keep watching for Summer of CMA contests and Romie sightings and stay tuned for more prizes and fun as we continue our celebration of the opening of the new East Wing of the Cleveland Museum of Art!

Well, no winners for Friday’s contest, so two tickets to Cedar Point are still up for grabs!

Tonight we’re going to do something a little different.  Romie will be returning to the museum for a special guest appearance at tonight’s Art on Tap event.  Music, great food and drink, and of course art, with a focus on all things blue.  Food from the deep blue, Blue Lagoon cocktails and music all selected to chase away the “summertime blues.”  Romie couldn’t resist this event, so she’ll be there.

What’s the catch, what’s the contest? Glad you asked!  Spot her at the party tonight at the museum, submit your comment, snap your photo of her and send it to us at haveyouseenit@clevelandart.org, or tweet about it, BUT you have to specify at precisely what time you saw Romie socializing tonight at the Muse.  Her schedule won’t permit her to be there the entire time, so let us know when you spot her, and you’ll be entered to win.

All entries must be submitted by noon, Thursday, July 9.  Winners will receive two FREE tickets to Cedar Point!

Good luck, and be sure to dip your toe into the deep blue tonight at Art on Tap at the Cleveland Museum of Art!

Have you seen her?

Renoir‘s Romaine Lacaux–Romie–is on the road again tomorrow.  She’ll be out on the near west side, and here’s a clue:  she takes her coffee with cream and sugar, and enjoys taking in the view of Flower Child.

If you see her just post a comment to this blog and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift certificate good towards merchandise at the Cleveland Museum of Art‘s Museum Store.  It’s all part of the Summer of CMA celebration taking place throughout the summer, lots of prizes, special events and fun all season long!

Tomorrow’s contest winner will be drawn Thursday, July 2.

Good luck!

So, did you see her?

On a brief sabattical from the Cleveland Museum of Art‘s new East Wing for a few hours, Romie decided to do lunch at a downtown location yesterday.  Here she is, pictured with her good friend Katie.  Provide us with a comment with your best guess of where this lunch took place today, and you’ll win tickets to a Lake Erie Crushers game.

Stay tuned to find out where Romie will pop up next and to win prizes all summer long with the Summer of CMA!

Good luck!

Have You Seen It?

Little “Romie” has been out and about the city, enjoying the beautiful summer weather.  She normally is a homebody, and calls the new East Wing of the Cleveland Museum of Art home.  But she knows all about the Summer of CMA, and has big plans to see everything the city has to offer.

She’s been keeping it on the “down-low,” but tomorrow she’s going to be lunching at a busy location in downtown Cleveland, so be on the lookout!  If you spot her, snap her and submit to this blog, you’ll be eligible to win a pair of tickets to see the Lake Erie Crushers.

Make your submissions by noon Thursday, June 25.  We’ll draw two winners after noon and let you know if you’re one of the lucky winners!

Good luck!

Well, it’s finally here!  The Summer of CMA.  All summer long we’ll be celebrating the opening of the glorious new East Wing of the Cleveland Museum of Art with our own online contest, “Have You Seen It?”

We’ll be taking our good friend, Renoir’s Romaine Lacaux all over the city this summer. That’s her featured at the top of this blog.  When you see this framed work of art at your local Starbucks, an Indians game or somewhere on the Circle, take a snap of it and post a comment on this blog, or email  your image directly to us at HaveYouSeenIt@clevelandart.org.  You can also post it to Facebook and Flickr with the tag: cmahaveyouseenit.  You can follow her through Twitter, too, at Summer of CMA.

We’ll be holding special contests and giving away prizes all summer long to the lucky winners!  Join the fun, visit the new East Wing and support art in your community with the Summer of CMA.
